1908 - Old School

Original use:  Jacksonville Public High School

Adaptive reuse:

  • Corporate offices for Cutler Investment Group and Ashland Partners.
  • Small museum telling the story of Jacksonville’s public and private schools. Alumnae room, located adjacent to the cafeteria, dedicated to service groups (approximately 1100 square feet).
  • Cafeteria. Available for community groups.

1924 - Gymnasium

Original use: High School sports, principally Basketball

Adaptive reuse:

  • Event Center
  • Community meetings
  • Festivals and fairs
  • Corporate events (such as retreats and seminars)
  • Weddings, reunions, proms
  • Community Theatre

1936 - Classrooms added to gymnasium

Original use: Class room instruction

Adaptive reuse:

  • Classroom setting for all types of learning activities

1946 - Annex classrooms attached to Old School

Original use: School class rooms

Adaptive use:

  • Corporate training classes and offices

Circa 1946 - Tin Barn

Original use: Park school busses

Adaptive reuse:

  • Remove barn, add parking

1950 - Cinderblock Music Room

Original use: Class room

Adaptive reuse:

  • Frau Kemmlings German Restaurant. Family oriented and Garden style dining

1995 - Cinderblock classrooms

Original use: Class rooms

Adaptive reuse:

Garden development and restoration of Daisy Creek and riparian zone, walking trails, picnic areas designated

  • Azalea garden, rose garden, community garden

Relocation of parking. Removal of asphalt and creation of entrance and walking paths leading to the Old School

 

2009 Proposed usage -

2010 Proposed usage - Daisy Creek Inn and Spa

  • Nestled around the majestic Oak trees, a wellness center and 8 guest rooms to complement Event Center, Britt patrons and the local community
